The 2007 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico La Marega is a pretty wine laced with crushed flowers, raspberries, spices, mint and licorice. It shows lovely mid-palate pliancy, with a touch more inner sweetness and perfume than the Classico. Black cherries, espresso, chocolate and spices are some of the notes that come to life on the textured, expansive finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2022.
