The 2013 Bouscaut has a light, simple but clean red berry nose that keeps it uncomplicated and is all the better for it. The palate is a little chewy on the entry with dusty black fruit, firm tannins and a gritty, masculine finish that provides decent length. This actually surpasses my expectations from barrel. It might not stop the world spinning on its axis, yet it will offer easy-drinking pleasure for the next 4-5 years.
