The 1996 Chardonnay Barrel Fermented, which is not put through malolactic, is aged 100% sur lie, and in 50% new oak casks. The grapes emerge from both Oakville and Rutherford. The result is a richly fruity, smoky, opulent, buttery wine with good fat, plump flavors.
