The 1999 Chardonnay Barrel Fermented Reserve sees some malolactic, but is harvested very late to obtain maximum ripeness. It is a smoky, roasted hazelnut, tropical fruit-scented and flavored Chardonnay, with medium to full body, and a style not unlike a good premier cru from Chassagne-Montrachet.
