This Tuscan dessert wine is in a very happy place at the moment. The 1998 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico Castello di Brolio pours from the bottle with shiny and bright intensity. The wine's appearance shows glimmering hues of copper, dark gold and Baltic amber. The bouquet is slightly less expressive, or tame, with elegant notes of candied fruit, dark honey and marron glacé. Those fruit aromas are enhanced by dry mineral notes and lingering balsam herb or cola. This vintage of Barone Ricasoli's celebrated Vin Santo focuses on small and delicate aromatic details.
