The 2005 Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Kabinett (with a Kabinett-typical 8.5% alcohol yet hiding its high residual sugar) was fermented and aged in cask whereas the Goldtropfchen stayed in tank. Salted apple, wet stones, and luscious grapefruit combine for a fruit- and mineral-bath character on the palate and an infectious urge for the next sip even before this excellent value wine’s finish has died away.
