The 2009 Rosso Piceno is a solid wine for the money. Sweet dark berries, tobacco, licorice and crushed flowers meld together in the glass. This hearty, Montepulciano/Sangiovese blend is a great wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2017. Boccadigabbia is one of my favorite estates in the Marche. The wines are always full of personality and character. Boccadigabbia traces its history to Napoleonic times, hence the heavy presence of international varities on the property.
