(100% malbec; from a single block of vines planted in 1910) Saturated ruby. Deep aromas of black raspberry and dusty chocolate. Supersweet, ripe and spicy, with very good vinosity to the black fruit, mineral and chocolate flavors. A distinctly dense, backward, modern-style wine, finishing with substantial dusty, chewy tannins. The yield here was reportedly just 12 hectoliters per hectare (only 1,200 bottles were produced), and the wine was aged in 100% new French oak for 14 months. I'd give it a good four years in the cellar.
