The 2007 Hispano Suizas Superius is a blend of 30% Bobal, 30% Cabernet Franc, 20% Syrah, and 20% Merlot aged for 30 months in French oak. Aromas of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, plum, and blackberry are followed by a dense, concentrated, full-flavored, lengthy offering with 3-4 years of aging potential. It offers a drinking window extending from 2014 to 2027.
The Bodegas Hispano Suizas project began in 1999 and consists of 55 hectares (121 acres) in Requena in the inland portion of the Valencia region. The current releases include two outstanding sparkling wines.
