2006 was a challenging year for Carneros-grown Pinot Noir. The finest of this trio is the outstanding 2006 Pinot Noir Temblor. A noteworthy achievement in this tough vintage, it exhibits a deep ruby color as well as aromas of cinnamon, allspice, pomegranate, and black cherries. A huge wine, almost Rhone-like in its dark color, thick mouthfeel and cherry flavors. But those cherries are really exotic, suggesting liqueur, and pies spiced with cinnamon, anise, nutmeg and mocha, along with the smoky, buttery sweet pie crust.
