The Santenay is big and alcoholic but tannic, and while I have scored it well, I am concerned about the fruit/tannin balance. In 1983 Belland's best wines are deeply colored, tannic, quite concentrated and full-bodied, and if they have a flaw at all, it is a lack of finesse. Nevertheless, this is a burgundy with flavor.
