Vivid yellow. Deep, pungent aromas of dried flowers, orange rind, honeycomb and herbs, plus a touch of vanilla. Creamy citrus and orchard fruit flavors are given spine and lift by dusty minerals and pick up a spicy quality with aeration. Shows uncanny life for a 40-year-old white wine, with gentle acidity adding bite to the very long, spicy, faintly smoky finish. Doesn't want to let up, which suited me just fine. This actually became fresher in the glass; I'd decant it for a short bit before serving it.
