(aged for eight years in cask) Yellow-gold. Richer and more exotic than the 1970 version, showing poached pear, apricot and honey on the nose, with notes of vanilla and baking spices adding complexity. Supple, palate-coating orchard and pit fruit flavors are sweetened by vanillin oak and marzipan, along with a musky, truffley quality. The finish repeats the honey and pit fruit notes and lingers with excellent spicy persistence. This is the most mature of this set of older releases and drinks very well now.
