Poliziano's 1988 Elegia, made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, was aged in new oak casks. This dark ruby/purple-colored wine is immensely impressive. It is made in a Bordeaux style, with its fragrant vanillin, toasty, cassis-scented aromas, medium to full-bodied flavors, superb extraction of fruit, moderate tannins, and long, intense finish. This world-class Cabernet Sauvignon should age extremely well for at least a decade. My first look at the three current offerings from Poliziano left a memorable impression.
