The 2008 Don David Torrontes is medium straw-colored with a fragrant nose of honey, spring flowers, and tropical scents. On the palate the wine has a trace of bitterness and is not as refined as the best Torrontes. Nevertheless, it is a decent effort that should be consumed over the next 12-18 months. A more serious and oily version of Torrontes than what one usually encounters. This is a balanced, semi-sophisticated white with roundness and ample flavors of gooseberry, lychee and green banana.
