The 2005 Vina Pedrosa Crianza is dark crimson-colored with an expressive bouquet of smoke, tobacco, mineral, and blackberry. On the palate the wine is firm, structured, and a bit muted. It has excellent concentration in a slightly austere style. Another 2-3 years in the cellar should flesh out this wine and make my score appear conservative. It should drink well through 2020. As a side note, the 2001 Vina Pedrosa Gran Reserva was austere, ungiving, and needs to be retasted.Importer: Christopher Cannan, Europvin; www.vinapedrosa.com
