Rich aromas of linden can be found in the nose of the 2002 Chablis Vaudesir (domaine). Medium-bodied and soft, it coats the taster’s palate with sweet pears and spices. It has admirable purity, depth, and lushness as well as a long, fruit-filled finish. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.
While Bernard Hervet, who oversees both Bouchard and William Fevre, prefers the 2000 vintage in Chablis “for its minerality and austerity,” your author believes 2002 is the finest set of wines to have been produced at this estate/negociant firm in many years.
