The 2006 Abel Mendoza Seleccion Personal has a reticent nose of spice box, roasted herbs, violets, and blackberry. On the palate it has more fruit than the Jarrarte bottling but it, too, has a hard, compact finish that will require even longer cellaring to see if it will come into balance.
