The 1998 Chateauneuf du Pape reveals the tell-tale Provencal aromatic concoction of herbs, soy, licorice, earth, and pepper. Intermixed with these seasonings is straightforward black cherry fruit. While spicy, well-made, and ripe, it is not especially deep or long. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. No known American importer.
