Le Chiuse’s 2008 Brunello di Montalcino is endowed with striking inner perfume and sweetness. Radiant, pliant and expressive, the 2008 is one of the juicier, more accessible wines of the year. Succulent dark cherries, menthol, tar and new leather all add complexity on the inviting, vinous finish. The 2008 should be approachable young, but it also has more than enough depth to drink well for another decade, if not longer. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2023.
