The 1999 Pinot Noir Reserve has moderate levels of attractive, sweet black cherries, smoke, mineral, and toast in the modestly endowed aromatics. However, once on the palate, searing acidity rears its unpleasant side, and although this wine's complex nose pulls the taster in, the texture, flavors, and overall mouthfeel are unfriendly because of the high acids.
