It is hard to think of roses in the freezing temperatures of a mid-Atlantic winter, but the 2004 Mas Carlot VDP d’Oc rose is a beauty made from bleeding tanks of Syrah and Grenache. The wine, which displays plenty of berry fruit, a hint of framboise, and medium body, has a distinctive, almost orange/pink color. It should be drunk before the end of summer 2006.
