The 1997 Riesling Leimenthal offers aromas of grapefruits, talcum powder, and pears. It is a medium-bodied, tangy, extremely well-focused wine with such density of fruit and exceptional balance that its 34 grams of residual sugar (per liter) are barely noticeable. Candied raspberries and honeyed melons are found in its powerful, velvety-textured character. Projected maturity: 2002-2012.Importer: A Peter Vezan Selection, (Paris Fax # 011-33-1-42-55-42-93), various American importers, including: Barriques Wines, Chicago, IL; tel (773) 275-1200; Dionysus Imports, Lorton, VA; tel (703) 751-9416; North Berkeley Imports, Berkeley, CA; tel (800) 266-6585.
