The 2007 Pinot Noir Neyer Vineyard is sourced from a Dundee Hills site. Medium ruby-colored, the nose offers up smoke, cinnamon, clove, cherry, and cranberry. Medium-bodied, silky-textured, and elegant, it reveals plenty of savory red fruit, ripe tannin, and moderate length. Drink this tasty effort over the next 5-7 years. Lemelson Vineyards’ 2007 Pinot Noirs are not quite up to the level achieved in the less challenging 2006 vintage. Nevertheless, it is a solid set of wines. Tel. Though lighter than the excellent 2006 Meyer Vineyard Pinot Noir, this compensates with a graceful blend of sweet/tart cherry fruit, licorice, herb and moist earth. The alcohol is a full percentage point lower than the previous vintage, and somehow the wine seems more Burgundian as a result, yet with plenty of pretty, juicy fruit.
