There was only a single barrel of this last year, fortunately there is double this year. That makes only a couple of the 2014 Pommard 1er Cru les Pezerolles to go round. It has a very subtle bouquet with red cherrires, blackcurrant and a touch of pomegranate, though it seems timid compared to some of the Volnays from Jean-Pierre Charlot. The palate is silky smooth on the entry with great density, a powerful Pommard with good grip and layers of minerally, red berry fruit furnishing the long finish. Excellent.
