An individualistic Spanish white, Mas d'En Compte's 2001 Blanco reminded me of a full-bodied southern Rhone white. A fruit cocktail-like perfume soars from the glass of this dense, unctuously-textured, rich blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Xarello, and 10% Picpoul. Sadly, there are only 2,400 bottles for the USA market. Insert this wine in a blind tasting and it will stump anybody ... anybody.
