The 1999 Corton-Charlemagne has a mouth-watering nose of almonds, cream, and spices. Medium-bodied and rich, yet austere, this pure, lime, mineral, and stone-flavored wine is silky-textured and admirably long in the finish. Concentrated and deep, this wine may merit a more positive review if it opens. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2011.
