The 2013 Lorca Monastrell went through malolactic fermentation in barrel where 30% of the wine had a short stage while the rest matured in stainless steel. The vines are located at 950 meters altitude on deep, clay soils. Remarkably similar to the other 2013s, this has notes of plums, beeswax and a Mediterranean accent of dried herbs and a rustic touch. The palate is medium-bodied, with soft tannins and a good finish. 25,000 bottles produced.
