The 1989 Pinot Blanc Princes Abbes from Schlumberger was one of the best I tasted from Alsace, with a honeyed, rich, opulent nose of oranges, deep, full-bodied, luscious flavors, and excellent depth and length. This wine would be huge commercial successes in the United States if someone would promote its virtues. It should be drunk over the next 4-6 years.
