The 2007 Barolo Vigneto Garretti is a pretty, floral wine laced with soft red fruit, flowers, licorice and spices. It shows lovely mid-palate sweetness and finesse through to the finish. My preference would be to enjoy this mid-weight Barolo over the next few years, while the fruit remains expressive and juicy. The Garretti was aged exclusively in neutral oak barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018.
I tasted an impressive set of wines at La Spinetta. Over the last few years the wines have become more focused and refined than in the past.
