The 2010 Plan B is a very oaky blend of Garnacha, Morenillo, Carinena and Syrah which aged for one year in 300-liter French oak barrels. The nose has notes of powdered cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, charred wood and peat with a medium to full-bodied palate and abundant dusty tannins, ending with a note of dark chocolate. Wait for the oak to integrate. Drink 2014-2017.
The unusual name means “the boiler” in the Catalan language. La Bollidora was created in 2005 in an old distillery, where wine was boiled to produce alcohol, hence the name.
No known American importer.
