Coming all from the northern part of the appellation, closer to Cote Rotie than Hermitage, the 2014 St Joseph Blanc from Perret comes from 40-year-old vines and was brought up in 20% new barrels. Its medium gold color is accompanied by terrific notes of white flowers, citrus blossom, white currant and subtle minerality. Possessing medium-bodied richness with plenty of texture and depth, it stays nicely focused on the finish and is a gorgeous white that excels on all accounts. Drink it anytime over the coming 4-5 years.
