The 2014 Riesling GG Aulerde offers a ripe fruit of tangerine zest, mango and pineapples on the nose. Full-bodied, fresh and mineral on the palate, this is an elegant and well-structured Riesling with power and a nice salinity. When I tasted the wine again from the same bottle seven days later, it had a clear and elegant nose where ripe tropical fruit and honeydew melon aromas, along with delicate earthy and clayey flavors were displayed. This wine is round and fruity in the mouth, very well-built on the mid-palate, and quite powerful in the finish. The Aulerde has a good grip, though lacks the tension and length you might expect from a Grand Cru. (AP #16/15)
