Vieux-Telegraphe has begun to produce a second cuvee, keeping their oldest vines for the estate's grand vin. The second wine, Vieux Mas des Papes, is supple, rich, and ideal for drinking within the first 7-8 years of life. The excellent 1995 exhibits gobs of sweet licorice, Provencal herb, and jammy black cherry fruit. This ripe, plump, low acid wine possesses a velvety texture as well as an alcoholic finish. Although not complex, it represents a delicious, jammy mouthful of pure fruit.Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel (510) 524-1524
