A vegetal/pickle barrel-scented nose is followed by a wine with a hollow mid-palate, and tannic, hard, woody flavors with no real fruit or depth. This wine possesses a beginning point and a finish, but no middle. It appears to be drying out, so drink it over the next several years.
The tasting notes for this section are from two single blind tastings, one conducted in May, 1996, in California, and the other in June, 1996, in Baltimore.
