The 1995 Castelli di Jesi is a round, personality-filled wine with lemony, mineral-like notes, medium body, a smoky, earthy character to its flavors, and a crisp finish. Although monolithic, it is a mouthfilling, savory dry Italian white that should drink well for 2-3 years. It should not be sipped as an aperitif, but rather, it merits being served with food.I have had occasion to taste numerous vintages of Bucci's Verdicchio, and it generally possesses more character than most Italian dry whites. Bucci's offerings tend to be more earthy, mineral-driven wines, with distinctive personalities as well as above average power and depth.Importer: Empson, USA, Alexandria, VA; tel. (703) 684-0900
