The 2004 Gran Viu Garnacha del Terreno is 100% Garnacha from 92-year-old vines. It spent 22 months in a mix of new and used French oak. It provides an alluring perfume of wood smoke, mineral, plum, and black cherry. Broad on the palate with considerable depth, the wine is densely fruited and rich. Drink this plush, lengthy wine now through 2020. Vinedos y Bodegas Pablo fared well in last year’s tastings. These releases from the outstanding 2004 vintage are equally good. Controlled, expressive and impressive for Garnacha. Dark fruit and dark spice are the lead actors, while the supporting cast includes a lush feel and good length.
