The 2008 Gran Viu Garnacha del Terreno was sourced from vines averaging 93 years of age and aged in seasoned French oak for 26 months. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it offers up notions of wood smoke, mineral, Asian spices, incense, black cherry, and black raspberry. In the glass it is intense, nicely proportioned, and sweetly-fruited. Give it 1-2 years to fill out and drink it from 2012 to 2020. Importer: Tom George, Frontier Wines, Dover, NJ; Tel. (973) 328-4500
