The Scacciadiavoli estate belongs to the Pambuffetti, an old family of Montefalco, but it is safe to say that there has never been a wine like this in its cellars. In addition to near-prefect weather during the summer and early fall, the owners had an all-star team of oenologists to work on the wine – first Lorenzo Landi to ferment the grapes, then Stefano Chioccioli to age and bottle it. A glowing, deep ruby in color, the powerful nose of mint, plums, chocolate, and red berry fruit is almost overshadowed by the intensity and structure of the palate, exceptionally concentrated but without the slightest hint of roughness or dryness, massive and velvety on the flow and finish, just beginning to open up but with an immense potential.
