The domaine's richest and most extracted 1990 is the Corton-Clos du Roi, which exhibits an ostentatious bouquet of toasty new oak, jammy black-cherries, and herbs, excellent richness, medium body, and copious quantities of glycerin and alcohol in the soft finish. Drinking beautifully, it should last another 5-6 years. I am confident this wine would exhibit even more complexity and richness if this domaine would throw away their filters. Nevertheless, the domaine is still a source of undeniably charming, lighter-styled red burgundies that emphasize finesse and elegance rather than brute power.
