The 1994 Vega Sindoa Cabernet/Tempranillo is an exceptional bargain. Made from a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Tempranillo, this dark ruby/purple-colored wine displays an excellent, spicy, oaky nose with jammy black-cherry and raspberry fruit scents. Dense, with the oak largely soaked up by the wine's ripeness and viscosity, this is a more structured and delineated wine than the 100% Tempranillo, as well as more elegant, stylish, and convincingly flavorful. It is smooth enough to be drunk now, but it promises to age well for 5-6 years. Bodegas Nekeas is one of the most progressive, modern wineries in northern Navarra. They are doing considerable experimentation in one of the cooler micro-climates of this area. If you haven't already figured it out, I'll say it again - these wines are exceptional bargains.
