The dark ruby-colored 1994 Zinfandel Zeigler Vineyard exhibits a spicy, leafy, peppery nose, a sweet entry on the palate, medium to full body, and a round, soft, generous mouthfeel. It is forward for a Joseph Swan Zin, without the kinky, earthy components possessed by some of this estate's wines. Drink it over the next 5-6 years. Readers should be aware that the Joseph Swan Zinfandels are made in a divergent style. They are more earthy and spicy, with the terroir components being emphasized more than the unbridled, pure fruit of the Zinfandel grape.NOTE: All the wines in this article were tasted in May, 1996.Tel.
