The 2009 Godello was barrel-fermented and aged in large French oak for 7 months. Light gold in color (from the oak), it displays notes of melon, mineral, jasmine, and nutmeg. Smooth-textured with the oak fully-integrated, this impeccably balanced Godello is likely to blossom even further over the next 12-18 months and provide pleasure for another 5 years. A lot of toasty oak on the nose announces this wine’s barrel-fermented roots, and additional lemon and apple aromas are classy.
