Nozzole's impressive Cabernet Sauvignon-based Il Pareto performed admirably in three consecutive vintages (1988, 1989, 1990). Certainly one would expect the 1988 and 1990 to be high class, but even the 1989 (a tough year for Tuscan wine producers) has turned out to be a fine effort. It exhibits a moderately dark purple color, a moderately intense bouquet of vanillin, blackcurrants and black-cherries, admirable richness, cedary flavors, and a lush, supple finish.
