The 2009 White Wine Uncloudy Day is 74% Chardonnay, 18% Roussanne and 8% Viognier that was aged for 15 months in 65% neutral oak barrels and 35% stainless steel. It bursts from the glass with an exciting array of mango, passion fruit and honey in an opulent, yet harmonious, plush style. A nuanced, finish rounds things out nicely. This is another striking, rich wine from Matthias Pippig. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. Sanguis was founded by Matthias Pippig and his wife Jamie Kinser in 2004. These artisan, small production wines are made from top vineyard sources in a style that emphasizes textural richness and depth. Each wine is a unique, unto itself creation down to the blends, names and labels. The best wines are quite promising and bode well for the future.Tel. (805) 686-3086
