The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny Villages, from 1.85 hectares of vines planed in 1955, was politely requesting a little more cohesion when I tasted it from barrel. The palate is better with slightly chewy tannins, a keen line of acidity and a slightly blocky but fresh finish that should gain finesse by the time of bottling. It might just be looking for an upswing once incarcerated in glass so that it settles at the top of my banded score.
