The 2006 Pinot Noir Abbott Claim Vineyard was developed and is owned by Ken Wright. Medium ruby-colored, aromas of earth, mineral, spice box, and red fruits are enticing. The wine has outstanding depth and concentration but comes up a bit short on complexity. That may well emerge with a few years of further cellaring. Ken Wright Cellars remains a benchmark for Oregon Pinot Noir. Wright’s portfolio of 2006s is outstanding across the board.
