The 2012 Salice Salentino Mani del Sud is mostly Negroamaro with a smaller percentage of Malavasia Nera that is aged in barrique for six months. The results show thick extraction and a dark, impenetrable appearance. The bouquet is fully loaded with dark fruit, spice, tar and cherry cola. Mani del Sud is a forceful and powerful wine that puts it all out there and leaves little to the imagination. It is overtly generous and rich.
