A new cuvée for Raquillet, the 2016 Mercurey Les Chazeaux hails from fourth-leaf vines and offers up attractive aromas of red berries, spice and raw cocoa, framed by some high-quality new oak (from Stéphane Chassin). On the palate, it's supple, medium-bodied and open-knit. As the vines mature, I expect this bottling to take on more depth and dimension.
