The 1998 Riesling Heissenberg was fermented and raised for six months in Burgundian barrels (20% of which were new). Hints of toast can be discerned in its mineral-dominated aromas. Medium-bodied, broad, and rich, it has outstanding depth and concentration to its spiced fruit-flavored character. This intense and powerful wine should be drunk between 2002 and 2012.
